Three Weekend Meditation Retreat – January 2019

Three weekend retreats covering the complete stages of the path to enlightenment, the special presentation of all Buddha’s teachings laid out in an easy to understand and practise, step by step format. These guided retreats are suitable for beginners and everyone is welcome.

Each weekend is in two parts: two teaching sessions on the Saturday morning followed by guided meditation retreat sessions on the Saturday afternoon and all day Sunday. It’s not necessary to attend all sessions – please see the timetable and prices.

Weekend 1 – The Path to Inner Peace – Sat 12-Sun 13
Understanding life & death, rebirth & karma, & seeking refuge in the Three Jewels.

Weekend 2 – Finding Freedom Within 19–20 Jan
Contemplating the Four Noble Truths & entering the path to liberation.

Weekend 3 – Loving Kindness 26–27 Jan
Developing the supreme good heart & realizing ultimate truth emptiness – the way things really are.

The teachers of these courses are dedicated students of Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso, and have practised and taught Kadampa Buddhism for several years.

Kelsang Gogden will be teaching The Path to Inner Peace half day course and guiding the first of our weekend retreats.  Kelsang Gogden is a Buddhist nun who has been ordained for over 11 years. Her joyful, funny and warm personality make her an engaging and popular meditation teacher. Kelsang Gogden currently teaches a weekly meditation class in Sefton Park Palm House as well as the monthly Meditation and Buddhism for Kids class at KMC Liverpool.

Pauline Kinrade will be teaching the Finding Freedom Within half day course and guiding the second of our weekend retreats. Pauline is a well-respected teacher who has been studying & practising meditation & Modern Buddhism for over twenty years. She has recently completed a six month residential teacher training programme at Manjushri Kadampa Meditation Centre. Pauline regularly teaches weekend courses at KMC Liverpool, as well as a weekly meditation class in Southport.

Buddhist Teacher, James SweetinJames Sweetin will be teaching the Loving Kindness half day course and guiding the third of our retreats. James has a warm and down-to-earth approach to his teaching, coming from his practical experience of meditation & Modern Buddhism. He shows how everyone can use the ancient wisdom of Buddha’s teachings in our modern world to find a happy and meaningful life. James currently teaches a weekly meditation class in West Derby.

retreat session: 4-5.15pm
retreat session: 7-8.15pm

Sunday:
retreat session: 10-11.15am
retreat session: 12-1.15pm
retreat session: 4-5.15pm
retreat session: 7-8.15pm

Pricing for all weekends:

Whole weekend (teachings and retreat) – £30

Saturday AM (teachings only) – £15

Saturday PM & Sunday (retreat only) – £3/session (please pay for retreat sessions on the door)
