Dealing with Frustration

Every day, we experience frustrations and disappointments, and this often leads to anger. These negative minds create difficulties in our relationships both at home and at work, destroying our peace of mind and affecting our health.

Anger is one of our most destructive delusions. The reason we get angry is that we allow our mind to remain on something that is likely to stimulate anger. If we catch our mind as soon as it starts to focus on such a thought it is quite easy to prevent anger from arising and to channel our thoughts in a more constructive direction.

In this half-day class, we will examine the mind of anger to understand why it arises and why it is so dangerous. We will also look at how to diminish our frustration and sense of disappointment. Buddha’s teachings give us proactive methods to overcome these painful states of mind so that we can live happier, more peaceful lives.

The teacher of this course is Gen Kelsang Jigme, our Resident Teacher. Ordained in 1997 by Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso, Gen Jigme has studied, practised and taught Kadampa Buddhism under Geshe Kelsang’s guidance for many years.
