Appearance & Emptiness – day course
“Phenomena are like illusions, like dreams,
And like reflections of the moon in a clear lake,
For though they appear they do not truly exist”
Buddha said that the way things appear to our senses is deceptive and completely contradictory to the way in which they actually exist – and all our suffering and problems come from not understanding this. By realizing emptiness, the way things really are, we will see that all phenomena are mere appearances to mind, like things seen in a dream. This profound realization is the key to permanent liberation from suffering, and the supreme inner peace of enlightenment.
This in-depth course is particularly suitable for those with some previous experience of Buddhist meditation, but anyone with a sincere interest is welcome to attend.
